POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for creating and maintaining an efficient Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) schedule to ensure on-time delivery to valued customers; internally and externally. The manufacturing operation includes Machines, Assembly, Foam & Steam Area, and Warehouse production.

The Master Scheduler/Planner will be accountable for the entire scheduling process from MPS to week to week production planning to printing and distributing work orders. This role is central to the daily operation of the business and is expected to work closely with key internal partners including Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving.

In addition, the employee will be responsible for further enhancing our technology to maximize visibility (capacity planning, production timelines, estimated completion dates, etc.) to execute an optimal plan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for MPS and MRP scheduling for all manufacturing and warehouse scheduling.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing operations on component compatibility of the rotational molding manufacturing process to ensure an efficient and optimized production schedule.
  • Demonstrate lean manufacturing principles in the warehouse production area through utilization of Hour-by-Hour production boards and work orders to meet production needs.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Customer Service to align production plans with customer demand.
  • Work with Purchasing to understand material lead times and adjust production schedules accordingly.
  • Optimize technology to stay organized. Using our MRP system, Excel Spreadsheets, and helping us build our proprietary scheduling software. Use IQMS to schedule whenever possible.
  • Monitor work in progress and proactively communicate critical issues, gaps, and constraints to leadership.
  • Develop run strategies that increase throughput while controlling inventory levels.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of lean scheduling and planning process to improve production efficiency and workflow coordination.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings to support planning and scheduling activities.
  • Track and analyze KPI metrics related to overdue Work Orders, Production to Plan %, and stock outs to ensure alignment with production goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • 3+ years of experience using MPS and MRP Scheduling practices in a manufacturing production scheduler role.
  • Prior experience with Hour-by-Hour planning and lean manufacturing preferred.

  • Must be organized. Strong skill set within Google/Excel sheets to build a scheduling dashboard for real time viewers.

  • Strong attention to detail
  • SIOP experience, a plus
  • Lead with a Lean Manufacturing mindset.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Works primarily in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks and rotational molding environment.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, heat and cold.
