POSITION SUMMARY
The Material Handler’s role is to efficiently and safely maintain and transport raw materials and components to the work centers. They will also be responsible for moving material(s) (bins/pallets of raw or finished goods) to and from the machines to the appropriate staging areas.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mixing and/or prepping raw material to be sorted, counted, and delivered to the required work center.
- Ability to move parts from all stations to the appropriate staging area.
- Maintain communication with teams at each work center, Scheduling, Purchasing and Leadership to ensure that work will be completed on schedule and in compliance with established practices.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with team members, contractors and company objectives.
- Willing to work in all areas of operations as requested to maintain team assets.
- Maintain cleanliness and general appearance of facilities and surrounding work
- Ability to identify work priorities, meet deadlines, and perform work duties with little to no supervision.
- Assist in troubleshooting, repairing problems with possible heavy lifting, and ability to work in cramped quarters.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- 2+ years of rotational molding manufacturing related experience.
- Must have mechanical aptitude, good attention to detail, and ability to perform basic math computations.
- Ability to use hand and power tools (drills, etc.).
- Welding experience preferred.
SOFT SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand basic math/measurement.
- Good visual ability to detect quality defects
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
- Comfort and ability to be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, heat and cold.
